Sanitary ceramics are made from ceramic material
with a solid sintered body covered by white or
coloured glaze. Sanitary ceramics are resistant to
thermal differences caused by hot and cold water.
Glazed surfaces are scratch-resistant, colour-stable
and ageing-resistant. These surfaces are also
resistant to acids, solvents and caustic liquids
commonly used as household detergents.
Care instructions
Glazed surfaces of ceramic products are resistant to
acids and diluted chemical compounds contained in
cosmetic products. Should a sanitary ceramic
product with a ceramic siphon (WCs, urinals, etc.)
be exposed to freezing temperatures, a suitable
anti-freeze mixture must be added to the water in
the siphon.
Tolerances
Product dimensions, weights and colours are subject to the usual
tolerances applicable to ceramics. It is especially important for rough
installations to take into consideration manufacturing size variations
versus catalogue dimensions. Precise shapes and dimensions as well as
production settings are subject to changes without prior notice due to
specific features of ceramic products.
Colours
Illumination type is of key importance while assessing a product’s colour
uniformity. You should therefore take into account that seemingly different
colour tones can be perceived by a viewer under the same illumination
and at the same distance from the source of light due to the
product’s shape variances and shadows cast by the product’s surfaces.
Special notice
Graphic designs, ideas and style are protected and subject to technical
changes without prior notice. Models and technical details correspond to
the latest status at the time of printing. No responsibility is assumed for
printing errors.
The special ceramic surface treatment has exceptional hygienic properties.
It features a water-repellent finish, preventing the deposition of both dirt and
scale. Water on this surface is bundled into little drops rolling off the surface
quickly. It is also possible to use soapy water or special bathroom cosmetics
on hydrophobic surface treatments of glass and glaze.
Upon the customer’s request, this water-resistant surface treatment is applied to selected products from JIKA ceramic sets upon
their baking. JIKA perla treatment is suitable for both outer and inner washbasin surfaces. Furniture washbasins are the only
products not available with this surface treatment. JIKA perla treatment is only applied to the external surfaces of toilet bowls and
urinals (JIKA perla treatment on the inner parts of a toilet bowl or a urinal would make proper rinsing difficult).
