factories. Wood is introduced

School

Wegner, Mogensen and

Risom study together in the

same class at the School of

Arts and Crafts in

Copenhagen

Hans J. Wegner

Wegner designs the

first version of the J16 for

cabinetmaker Johannes

Hansen.

Cabinetmakers’

Guild Exhibition

Mogensen and Wegner

present a joint exhibition

together at the Copenhagen

Cabinetmaker’s Guild,

showcasing exclusive,

lightweight furniture.

Børge Mogensen

Mogensen’s J39 is launched

by the Danish Cooperative

Wholesale Society

in Denmark.

1952

Søborg

Børge Mogensen

Mogensen launches a

series of steel-legged furniture

for Søborg Møbelfabrik and

Andreas Graversen’s first

company, Tage Christensen

& Son.

1955

Graversen

and Mogensen

Andreas Graversen acquires

Fredericia on the condition

that Børge Mogensen would

be the sole designer.

1958

The Spanish Chair

Børge Mogensen

The Spanish Chair is

launched at the Copenhagen

Cabinetmakers’ Guild

Exhibition and soon becomes

an icon of the collaboration

between Fredericia and

Mogensen.

Ox Chair

Hans J. Wegner

At the Furniture Fair in

Fredericia, Wegner launches

the Ox Chair, made by the

AP Workshop.

2213 Sofa

Børge Mogensen

Fredericia introduces the

2213 Sofa, designed by

Mogensen in an effort to

create the ultimate

upholstered sofa.

Corona Chair

Poul M. Volther

Poul M. Volther breaks

new ground with the Corona

Chair introduced by Erik

Jørgensen.
