BASIC RULES
All our wood is high traffic resistant. Marks may occur due to impacts, falls, heavy wei-
ghts on small areas (furniture), stilettos, small stones or pieces of metal unerneath the
shoes. Italiana Parquet finish is high resistant to scratches and usually it can be easily
restored. However, all of the above should be avoided as far as possible.
All products must be stored in a dry environment, with intact packaging (RH 45%-65%,
T. 15°C – 28°C) until the time of installation which must take place in full respect and
maintenance of some essential parameters for the successful outcome and to keep the
wood floor characteristics unchanged over time:
1) Doors and windows installed.
2) Dried painting.
3) The room humidity must be between 45% and 65%. Once the laying has been car-
ried out it is necessary to maintain the same ideal climatic conditions. Dryness may
cause the appearance of cracking between boards, micro splitting, delamination of
the top–layer and swelling. Dampness may damage the flooring in an irreversible
way.
4) Room temperature must be between 15°C and 28°C.
5) The wood floor must be laid on a dry underlay with humidity rate not over 2% by
weight; the moisture content in heating screeds must be 1.7% in concrete, while
for anhydrite/calcium sulfate screeds it must be 0.5%. The measurement must be
carried out with suitable instruments (carbide hygrometer).
6) After laying it is necessary to maintain the same ideal climatic conditions to prevent
damages as already explained at point 3).
Temperature must be between 15°C and 28°C and air humidity between 45 and
65%. Such values are peculiar to a high quality environment which is essential to
keep optimal health.
7) Promptly remove the exceeding glue with a cotton rag without adding alcohol or
solvent.
8) The coming up of humidity from the under–flooring or flooding may damage the
flooring in an irreversible way.
9) Any chromatic difference generated by carpets or furniture tends to fade and di-
sappear once removed by exposing the surface to daylight for some time.
Avoid covering the floor with carpets or similar for the short term to allow a homo-
geneous oxidation of the surface.
10) Prior to installation on radiant heating subfloor check heating pipes are covered
with at least 30 mm of concrete. The temperature of the surface must not exceed
27°C. Laying can be done after the under–flooring has been conditioned having a
final environmental temperature of 18–20°C (with heating turned off).
