As a general rule there are no
limitations to using light Travertine
for exteriors (after all, the Colosseum
has stood up well over the centuries),
but we would recommend filling the
holes to minimise the formation of
mould.

l’impiego del Travertino chiaro per
i rivestimenti esterni. Dopotutto il
Colosseo ha retto più che bene al
trascorrere dei secoli. Per evitare
la formazione di eventuali muffe o
ristagno di liquidi vi consigliamo
comunque di stuccare i buchi in
superficie.

Light Travertine is beautiful as
a countertop, but it absolutely
must be treated with a water-oil
repelling treatment. There is no
treatment on the market which
unequivocally seals natural stone,
so it is important to wipe up spills
before they have time to penetrate
the stone. We would also strongly
recommend filling the holes so that
liquids and food residue cannot
accumulate in them.

come piano da cucina ma necessita
di un accurato trattamento
idro-oleo-repellente. Non esiste
prodotto sul mercato che protegga
totalmente la pietra per cui è
importante rimuovere qualsiasi
liquido dalla superficie il prima
possibile. Consigliamo di stuccare i
buchi superficiali in modo da evitare
accumuli di liquidi o sporco.

Light Travertine is a
moderately porous material
and, like most natural
stones, it is sensitive to
acids so we recommend
that a cutting board is used
in the kitchen, rather than
cutting food directly on the
stone surface. It must be
well sealed and any spills
wiped up quickly.
