LBM

Design by Moisés Hernández

Inspired by compatriot Luis Barragán Morfín, Moisés

Hernández’s LBM Table Lamp and Corner Table Lamp are

influenced by the Mexican architect’s innovative use of

geometry, colour, and light.

Just as the walls in Barragán’s architecture serve as a

frame that casts shadows to create colour and dimension,

the LBM lamps feature one or two folded vertical planes of

sheet steel to create a similar poetic interplay of light and

colour. Both variants offer an ambient downlight with a subtle

gradient effect, with the Corner Table Lamp’s two sides

forming a small niche within a space. The lamps’ unique,

calming atmosphere create an artistic quality that is equally

appealing both when in use and switched off. The LBM series’

functionality and deliberately uncluttered design makes it

suitable for a wide range of spaces and uses in domestic and

corporate environments.

In his work, Moisés seeks to use very

simple shapes that he complements with

colour and texture to bring warmth to

the everyday objects that he designs.
