Originally designed by Robin Day in 1951 to complement the

restaurant and foyer seating in London’s Royal Festival Hall

,

the RFH collection is grounded by a distinctive visual presence

.

Decidedly simple in construction and small in proportion, th

e

series once sat in multiples on the venue’s outdoor terrace, inviting

guests to slow down and enjoy a moment of repose in the hear

t

of the city. Comprised of a table in two sizes and a chair wit

h

accompanying cushions, the collection maintains a light and air

y

presence wherever situated through a blend of teak and powder-

coated steel. Robin Day’s use of honest materials is indicative of hi

s

desire to introduce forms that would complement and enrich the

lives of those around them

.
