C

onveniently situated in the very heart of

Monte Carlo, this grand building is the

ideal setting for formal and

important ceremonies, exhibitions and

meetings.

All the spaces are immense and are

suitable for highly representative or

media events.

It is in this elegant setting that

“Le Bal de la Rose” and the

Red Cross summer ball take place

and are attended each year by the

Court of Monte Carlo, as well as other

well-known guests.

The project - planned by Sicis with Jean-Louis Berthet -

reproduces part of a surface of the

“Basilica di San Marco” in Venice. According to the

client’s project, Sicis had to create the mosaic decoration

as if it were a fragment coming

from an archeological

find inserted in a modern floor.

The client also wanted to

change the original colour of

San Marco’s with white, grey

and black marbles.

Sicis supplied “Honed Cosmati” and Carrara marmo

mosaics to cover an area of 200 sqm / 2,200 sqft including:

the Sporting Club hall, the “Salle des Etoiles”, Man and

Women toilets, and the lift landing areas.

Travertino-antique, custom made by black dots, has been

used for all the restaurants 450 sqm / 4,950 sqft.

For the great hall and the “Salle des Etoiles” floors,

a very impressive optical pattern has been created using

black, grey and white mosaics which fit the

elegance

of the Sporting Club.
