T
he Burj Al Arab (or “Arabian
Tower”) is the tallest hotel building
in the world. Built on an artificial island
in Dubai, the glamour capital of the
United Arab Emirates, this seven-star-all-suite hotel
has already become an international landmark.
With 202 suites, and floor to ceiling windows
offering a breathtaking view of the sea, the
Burj Al Arab offers a wide choice of rooms.
The two Royal Suites on the 25th level are
undoubtely the most luxurious hotel rooms
in the world.
A new kind of luxury has been especially created
for this very special hotel where everything is
beyond compare. The Burj al Arab combines the
spirit of traditional Arabian culture with the
quality of the latest technology and modern design.
Sicis was able to supply the hotel with “ne plus
ultra” marble and “Smalto” mosaics, with
“tesserae” in colors specially created for this
project in the same way as much of the decor
designed on commission.
The architects - a team of 150 designers and
engineers from the globe-trotting English design-
build firm K. C. A. - have carefully planned each
step of the project and have supplied Sicis with all
the necessary details and specifications.
Sicis marble and “Smalto” mosaics have been used
extensively throughout the hotel because of their
high quality, beauty and style. They can be found
on the floors and walls of the suites
and restaurants, on columns and domes, in the Spa
and health fitness facilities, as well as in the hotel’s
atrium which is the largest in the world.
