alidario is a spa centre located in

Tuscany (Venturina, near Livorno) and

dating back to the Etruscan period.

Each day, over 12,000 litres of warm water at a

temperature of 36°C, run from an ancient

natural spring through the pool. Waters are

directly accessible from the heated changing

rooms, thanks to an underground passage

which also leads to a small cave with a

waterfall used for hydromassage.

The floors have been covered with “Botticino”

mosaic using 30 x 30 mm / 1 1/4” x 1 1/4”

tesserae, with “Pietre Romane” finishing.

TheTurkish Bath, the sauna, the showers and

the massage area overlook a room which

features a circular mosaic pattern called

“Mhyrra”. The colours used are “Rojo” and

“Botticino” with “Pietre Romane” finishing.

The floor of the great hall overlooking the

swimming pool features some mosaic carpets

made of octagonal and herringbone pattern

marble tesserae. The borders surrounding the

carpets are “Rojo”, “Verde Alpi” and

“Botticino” in different shapes. The swimming

pool features splendid mosaic patterns : the

walls are covered with “Botticino” marble

mosaics and the bottom floor with the

“Mhyrra” circular pattern.
