Being a limestone, Silk Georgette®

is relatively porous and so, to

prevent the formation of mould,

it’s particularly important to apply

protective sealants and treatments,

and to ensure the surface is cleaned

regularly.

Silk Georgette® is beautiful as

a countertop, but it absolutely

must be treated with a water-oil

repelling treatment. There is no

treatment on the market which

unequivocally seals natural stone,

so it is important to wipe up spills

before they have time to penetrate

the stone.

many years.

Silk Georgette® is a porous

material and, like most

natural stones, it is sensitive

to acids so we recommend

that a cutting board is used

in the kitchen, rather than

cutting food directly on the

stone surface. It must be

well sealed and any spills

wiped up quickly.
