A respected figure at the forefront of Danish design

Verner Panton (1926-1998) aspired to be a painter before
studying architecture at the Royal Academy of Fine Art
s
in Copenhagen. After an apprenticeship with architect/
designer Arne Jacobsen, Panton pursued a path in furnitur
e
and interior design. It was during this part of his career
that he became famous for his originality and tireless
experimentation, pushing the boundaries of design wit
h
innovative materials, bold colours, and unconventional
forms that transformed contemporary interiors.
