mineral springs in the heart of
Casamicciola, a small town on the
island of Ischia, well-known jewel of the Mediterranean along with
nearby Capri. Casamicciola was the first resort on the island, offering
guests mineral springs whose curative properties were extensively
documented from the time of the ancient Romans. It was the Romans,
in fact, who placed Casamicciola under the protection of Apollo, the
god of health and well-being, and built luxury bath complexes, some
archeological vestiges of which can still be seen today. So it is not by
chance that this island, famous for its saline-bromine-iodine waters, is
considered the third most important
site in the world for spa resorts. This
