eatro Alberti, an ele-
gant bar-restaurant-
theater, arose from a
project of recovery and restora-
tion of a 15th-century church,
which over the centuries had
been converted to a theater and
later a movie house. The reco-
very project conserved and high-
lighted the historical traces -
such as the trellises, runways,
and the 19th-century curtain of
the old theater, along with the
original vestry and bell tower -,
which contribute atmosphere
and elegance to make this a very
special place. The philosophy
behind the project was to provi-
de a place that would offer
various possibilities for enter-
tainment in a single structure,
from a simple cocktail, to dinner
at the restaurant, to the theater
performance, and then after-
theater drinks later in the eve-
ning.
In relation to the design, the
intent was to restore the atmo-
sphere of old theaters by using
velvet, damask, sconces, crystal
and Murano glass chandeliers,
