The Moscow-based artist Roma Manikhin
is known for his humorous and erotic
universe, which he uses to address themes
of marginal sexuality and the fetishism of
sex. Bright colors, expressive forms and a
touch of sentimentcharacterize his work,
which comprises painting, installation art
and print graphic design. Since 2005, he
has worked as a magazine illustrator for
major publishing houses.
Manikhin was born in 1977 in Moscow. He
graduated from the Stroganov Moscow
State University of Arts and Industry with
a degree in Communication Design in
2008. Latest solo exhibitions include
‘Circus Circus’ at the Art4.RU Museum of
Contemporary Art in Moscow, Russia and
