Humanizing urban spaces

The modern city needs to have

something to offer for many different

lifestyles. We don’t just drive to town to

work and then leave in the evening but

use and navigate the city in many

different ways. Transparent restaurants

and shops tempt us, and open-air

experiences at cultural and educational

centres open our minds.

Obviously the city infrastructure needs to

be well functioning, but it also needs to

be a place where humans can rest after

work without being bombarded with

impressions.

Safety is still an important factor when

selecting and planning the right lighting

– not least in the areas where humans

pass and reside. Sadly, economy and

technology are often prioritised

compared to other factors.

At Louis Poulsen we believe that these

parameters don’t have to compromise

comfort and aesthetics. For us form

follows function and we create products

that last – both in terms of design and

functionality.
