UNI EN ISO : 9001 – 14001 – 45001

The production process of Marca Corona is

certi�ed as compliant with the UNI EN ISO

standard. ISO 9001 certi�cation testi�es to the

e�cacy of the Company’s �uality Control System,

guaranteeing high levels of quality throughout the

production cycle, from the raw materials through

to the �nished product. ISO 14001 attests to the

compliance of Marca Corona Environmental

Management System, a voluntary control system

designed to monitor all the company’s activities

and gradually reduce their environmental

impact. The ISO 45001 standard evaluates the

Occupational Health and Safety Management

System put in place by the Company to guarantee

the Well-being and Health of all its employees and

collaborators.

U.S.GREEN BUILDING COUNCIL MEMBERSHIP

Marca Corona is an ordinary member of the U.S.

GREEN BUILDING COUNCIL, an organisation that

promotes sustainability of design, construction

and building management processes, by de�ning

parameters for sustainable building, recognised in

over 50 countries all over the world. The USGBC

is, in particular, known for having developed the

LEED (Leadership in Energy and Environmental

Design) rating and certi�cation system.

LEED V4

Marca Corona products contribute to obtaining

LEED credits, in compliance with the latest

upgrade of the certi�cation system, namely

LEED V4, today the most important criterion

for rating the environmental sustainability of a

building. In accordance to this system, the rating

of a building depends on the number of credits

obtain in several sustainability areas. Amongst

the most important parameters for obtaining

LEED V4 credits� reduction of the Heat Island

E�ect, availability of speci�c certi�cates (amongst

which the EPD, PEF and HPD), the provision of

transparent information relating to raw materials,

the recycled content in the �nished product and

the level of emissions of VOC.

EPD

The EPD (Environmental Product Declaration)

is an environmental product declaration that

provides transparent and comparable information

on environmental impact of products. It

highlights the commitment of a company towards

sustainability.

Apart from the EPD, issued to all companies

of Con�ndustria Ceramica to rate the average

environmental impact of the ceramic sector,

Marca Corona will soon be obtaining the brand

EPD, which is speci�c for its production range.

PEF

The PEF (Product Environmental Footprint)

measures the environmental performance of a

product throughout its life-cycle. The purpose

of the PEF is to establish common methods for

measuring and communicating environmental

impact in order to allow for a direct comparison

between the product and other items of the same

product category.

HPD

The HPD (Health Product Declaration) is a

self-declaration relating to the healthiness

of a �nished product, which describes the

composition of a material (material contents,

absence of VOC, etc) and its e�ects on health.

Speci�c communication standards make this

declaration particularly understandable and

transparent. Owning this certi�cation contributes

to obtaining LEED V4 CREDITS.

NF UPEC

NF UPEC is the French quality mark. It is a product

approval certi�cate issued by the French institute,

CSTB, that certi�es technical suitability of �rst

grade products with respect to their intended

use. Marca Corona has obtained the UPEC

GREEN GUARD

The GREENGUARD certi�cation is an

environmental product certi�cation founded in

the United States. It guarantees that products

designed for use indoors meet stringent

chemical emission limits and contribute to the

creation of healthier interior environments. The

GREENGUARD certi�cation proves that a product

ful�ls the most rigorous and complete global

standards on the low emission of Volatile Organic

Compounds (VOC) into the environment and

in buildings. The GREENGUARD certi�cation is

widely recognised and adopted by sustainable

building and building codes all over the world.

CCC

The CCC (China Compulsory Certi�cate) is a

compulsory safety mark for products sold in the

Chinese market. It is required for both Chinese

manufactured and foreign imported products.

This is a multi-criteria method for

promoted by the EU.

Marca Corona is amongst the �rst

industries in the ceramic sector

to have a PEF declaration that has

been certi�ed by an independent

organisation. A certi�ed PEF

guarantees that tiles have high

performance speci�cations.
