In Italian, the word ‘ospite’ accommodates in its six letters two meanings,
one active, the other passive. It is an inclusive term by nature that sits at the
same table one and the other part of itself: those who host and those who
are hosted.
It is a democratic, open act that stems from a covenant of civilization with
ancient origins. Hospitality is part of our vocabulary. It is in the design of
our city, Mantua: a waterside stronghold where the walls defend history and
identity, while the waters of the Mincio make them flow and connect
us to the world.
It is in our name, Agape, in its sense of conviviality, relationship, reciprocity.
