The Soft Marble Collection
in Bianco Carrara was
designed by Ron Gilad and
challenges traditional ideas
about stone and how it is
used with the curved forms
of its pieces seemingly
defying logic and begging
the question “but how do
you bend stone?”.
“This experience working
on the Soft Marble
Collection was intriguing,
as I tend never to start a
project from ‘the material’.
Materials are part of the
execution and usually ‘join
in’ when the concept is
more firm. That's why the
starting point of working
with Salvatori placed me on
unstable ground forcing me
to dig and hopefully learn
and discover the DNA of

in quanto io non inizio mai
un progetto dal “materiale”.
I materiali fanno parte
dell’esecuzione e di solito
aderiscono al concetto
quando il progetto è già
definito. Ecco perché
iniziare a lavorare con
Salvatori mi ha messo su
un nuovo terreno che mi
ha spinto a dover scavare
e discernere il DNA del
