Corfu is an island with an incredibly rich history,

with its city Corfu Town famous for its Venetian

architecture. On the beautiful peninsula of Kom-

meno, this in

fluence is very much in evidence –

the hotel is set within Italianate gardens that

meander down to the sea

.

The Elixir Beauty Spa in the hotel has been de

-

signed by Shelley Reiner of Suited Interior Design

,

who has specialized in high-end hospitality pro-

jects for the last 15 years. Her design draws inspi

-

ration from Corfu’s namesake Kerkyra, daughter

of the river god Asopos, featuring gentle tur-

quoise colors and forms that celebrate fluidity an

d

the natural luxury of water. The design incorpo

-

rates graphic pattern in tiles and furniture, evok-

ing traditional Greek decorative motifs, made to

feel utterly modern when combined with classica

l

proportions and cool contemporary colors an

d

materials. Inside the spa, guests can enjoy th

e

experience of GROHE SmartControl teamed with

Rainshower F-Series shower heads which cas

-

cade water down from the ceiling onto the marble

floor below.
