Niehku Mountain Villa is located on Riksgränsen, the na-
tional border between Sweden and Norway, on the site of
the legendary Malmbanan (Iron Ore) train line. Created a

a comfortable home-from-home ideal for exploring th

adventurous activities on offer in the area, the villa has
been ingeniously designed to incorporate the history of

walls of the line’s old roundhouse so that they pass
through the new building
The villa has won the ‘Best Hotel Interior’ at the prestig-
ious Prix Versailles and was also named as the overal

winner at the awards hosted at the UNESCO Headquar-
ters, Paris in September 2019. The interior – which in-
cludes 14 double rooms, a restaurant, bar, lounge and

tures from the roundhouse and adding rich materials an
d
nods to local tradition that create a feeling of luxuriou
s
insulation from the cold outside. The name Niehku is
the Northern Sami word for ‘dream’, and this feeling is
encapsulated in the warm, industrial glamour of th
e

Brushed Hard Graphite finish for a perfect aesthetic
